We know the saying: "Every beginning is difficult!" This is certainly true in most cases, but with a few good tips, the first few days at work will not be so difficult.

It is natural that everyone is nervous on the first day at a new workplace, since everything is unknown when entering an organization and a new community. The first days, weeks, and months hold a lot of information, experiences, and feelings. Think about the fact that this is the most exciting and interesting part of the new workplace, you see and experience a lot of things and form human relationships that can determine your future. I've been through these stressful situations several times, so I have a few ideas on what to focus on.

Remind yourself that YOU are there for a reason. They chose you - out of hundreds of people - They considered you the most suitable to perform the task, they want to see you as a member of their team. That way, you might be more relaxed on the first day.

Every new job offers many opportunities. What you bring out of yourself in a particular workplace is largely up to you, on the other hand, the colleague responsible for training can also do a lot to ensure that you can later work confidently and independently in the area of responsibility assigned to you. During a well-organized training session, your mentor ensures that you have an introduction, local knowledge, and work tools, as well as imparting the knowledge that your job requires, and the team also contributes to the integration so that it goes smoothly.

During the apprenticeship period, it is important to pay as much attention as possible to the one who is teaching you, do not wander off, now your task is to master everything. Have a pen/pencil, paper/notebook with you so that you can write down the most important information, rules, the use of systems-programs-machines, and the details of your future tasks. It may happen that at that moment you feel that it is easy, but on the sixth or seventh day, after getting to know the numerous systems, things can flow together in one's head.

It always seems easier to have someone else do it, but when you have to work independently in the program, it is really useful to read the note back to avoid mistakes. Let them be your "crutches", this will help you to resolve the tension in yourself and it will be easier for you to solve a task on your own. Your attitude is also important during the training period, a lot can happen in these few weeks. You can also draw conclusions about the company and the employer about you.

The basis is that it is always necessary to appear at the workplace in a well-groomed condition suitable for work, and the clothing should meet the requirements of the job - sometimes work clothes, sometimes "office" wear is expected.

Be open to everything and everyone! Take steps towards them. If you already know where the kitchen is and you run into someone there, feel free to take the initiative and introduce yourself, try to start a conversation, it will be a good feeling if after a few days more people greet you in the corridor and ask how you are feeling.

It is worth paying attention not to talk too much or unnecessarily, not to disturb others at work, not to reveal your whole life and problems to everyone right away. Remember, you are not sitting with a psychologist, you are trying to fit in. Later, when a relationship of trust has developed, it is up to you what you share with each other. A smile is always a winner! You can't go wrong with a respectful and polite attitude.

Feel free to ask if you don't understand something, but don't say the same thing six times, then you give the impression that you're not paying attention or don't understand the task.

Finally, the most important thing: Take your studies and work seriously! If you make the most of yourself, you have done a lot to ensure a long-term cooperation between you and your new employer.

Don't worry, you'll be fine! Good luck!
